M. Colleen McDaniel, Ph.D.
Colleen (she/they) is an award winning feminist, researcher, and anti-sexual violence activist. They have conducted research on heterosexual men’s perpetration of sexual violence, Social Norms Theory, Cultural Betrayal Trauma Theory, and Goal Systems Theory. Colleen has conducted statewide prevention education evaluation projects in Ohio and launched three county-wide violence prevention initiatives in Loudoun County, VA. Colleen has consulted for 6 years at the state and national level. She has experience in primary prevention program strategy, development, and implementation in K-12 and Higher Ed including: training material and curriculum creation; project management and team leadership; collaboration with administrators; and assessment and program evaluation.
Elizabeth Drake, M.A.
Elizabeth (she/they) comes from the world of academia, teaching, and nonprofits. They began researching violence depicted in YA literature during their M.A. program. During her PhD program, Elizabeth researched representations of sexual violence in media (with a specialization in horror films) and organized for workers unions’ rights, Title IX reform, anti-sexual harassment policies, and survivors rights as President of AFT #6123 (Detroit, MI). In addition to nearly a decade teaching undergraduate writing, literature, and film courses, Elizabeth also has a background in grant writing for nonprofits such as Mercy Education Project (Detroit, MI) and The National Domestic Violence Hotline (Austin, TX).
